☆ Este fin de semana tuvimos el gusto de encontrarnos con Deneb, el vocalista - guitarrista de la banda panameña de indie rock Les Indigents y aprovechamos para sacarle unas fotos y hacerle unas preguntas. ☆
☆ Last weeked we met Deneb, vocalist-guitarist of Panamanian indie rock band Les Indigents and we had the chance to snap some photos of him and ask him some questions! ☆
La historia de Deneb y Les Indigents se remonta a finales del 2014 cuando Kalo (guitarrista de LI) le pidió formar una banda luego de haber pasado un buen tiempo componiendo música y escribiendo letras. Tanto Kalo como Joel (bajista de LI) querían hacer música madura y libre y experimentar fuera de las reglas para llegarle a un público más general, fuera de las barreras de edad, y así fue como inició el proyecto de la banda.
Deneb and Les Indigents story goes back to the end of 2014 when Kalo (LI guitarist) asked him to form a band since they had been long composing and writing music together. Kalo as well as Joel (LI bassist) wanted to make music at a more mature level and take it to the more free and experimental side: to stop following rules so they could get the attention of a more general public and this is how it all started.
Deneb aparte de músico es animador y padre y algo que nos llama la atención es el cuidado por el detalle de proyectarse como todo lo que es y eso también se refleja al momento de ver a Les Indigents tocar y la imagen general de la banda. Él nos cuenta que encontrar una imagen ayuda a transmitir de manera visual lo que LI quieren expresar por la música que hacen. El estilo de Deneb es el resultado de todas sus influencias musicales a través de los años: grunge, power metal, pop punk e indie.
Aside from being a musician, Deneb is also a professional 2D/3D animator and a father to a lovely child and something that grabs our attention is the care he has for projecting himself as the man and musician that he is. That's also the case for Les Indigents as they all have a sort of ID through the way they dress according to the music they make. Deneb's style is the result of all his musical influences through time: grunge, power metal, pop punk and indie.
Entre sus influencias músicales se encuentran Nirvana, Silverchair, Kamelot, Jørn Lande, All Time Low, Mutemath, The Griswolds y A Day To Remember. En cuanto al plano musical en Panamá, le gustaría que hubiesen más festivales de música o al menos más apoyo en ellos.
Among his musical influences there is Nirvana, Silverchair, Kamelot, Jørn Lande, All Time Low, Mutemath, The Griswolds and A Day To Remember. He is in the hope to have more exposure and that could be done if people supported more the local artists or if there were more events in our country related to music.

It's refreshing seeing musicians as Deneb with a visual identity as it helps us, as listeners, fans and viewers, to have one more reason to remember a band beside playing excellent music.
