Para culminar el bloque de pasarelas del día 1 de FWP13 tenemos de último, pero no menos importante, a Juan David Velez con su colección Enchanté Bijoux (que se puede interpretar como el encanto de las joyas o la joyería).

Sobre esta colección hay mucho que decir: empezando por el hecho que nos quitamos el sombrero ante el diseñador por su labor y dedicación a la colección. Este bloque B estuvo caracterizado por piezas y visiones en común que tuvieron los diseñadores anteriores -a pesar de ejecutar cada uno sus diseños con sus estilos y sellos personales- pero Velez dio unos pasos más allá alejados del cauce común y esta colección fue el resultado.

El drama dio inicio a Enchante Bijoux: con una melodía de gran emoción sonando al fondo, una modelo se asoma con su máscara y desfila suavemente por toda la pasarela. Viste esta obra completa de degradados de gris a plomo y la cantidad de pedrería que relucía hasta la última silla de la sala. Y este es el tipo de detalles por los que vale la pena ir y presenciar las pasarelas. Hay detalles que simplemente, por más fotos que veas, no serán iguales.

Tenemos una mezcla de siluetas reminiscentes al rococó y a los años 50s con el New Look de Dior. Al mismo tiempo tenemos una inspiración barroca con todas las aplicaciones y detalles que carga cada pieza. Las hombreras, los vuelos con crin, los detalles pintados y teñidos a mano, los degradados, la mezcla de texturas, las capas de chiffon, las distintas maneras en que jugó con los peplum, los drapeados, las plumas...y mejor te dejamos con las fotos para que veas por tí mismo la colección:

To wrap up all the runway shows of Day 1 at FWP13 we have at last, but not least, Juan David Velez and his collection: Enchanté Bijoux (which can me interpreted as the 'charm' or the enchant of jewels or jewelry).

We have a lot to say about this collection.

Hats off! The level of dedication and work in every piece of this collection is outstanding. All the previous designers had common points 'design wise' -even though the execution deferred according to their own style- but Velez stepped aside and made something very different from the -local- and regional market.

Drama was the ignition point: a melody of heavy strings piling up emotion, a masked model makes an appearance and walks down the runway slowly. Dressed in a highly elaborated gown -that had some washed out smoky tones-, you could see all the sparkles even at the very far back of the room. And this is why it's worth it to pay and see the collections live. There are details that no matter how many photos you see, they won't show up the same.

There is a mix of silhouettes reminiscent of Rococo and to Dior's 1950s New Look. At the same time there is a baroque inspiration with all the applications and details in each piece. Shoulder pads, hems with crinoline, the painted and hand dyed fabrics, the mixture of textures, layers and layers of chiffon, the different ways to apply a peplum into a design, the draping, the feathers...and it's best for you to check everything with the photos down below:
